self portrait tuesday- reconsider

self portrait tuesday- reconsider
This has absolutely nothing to do with the photograph, hence the randomness of it. I was driving home from work when I suddenly remembered something. Something that made me briefly reconsider ever having children of my own. I remembered something I did when I was 14 years old. Sorry, Mom, in advance.

We lived in a nice neighborhood with a couple of my friends from school as neighbors. There were two in particular that I am thinking of- Brett and Scott. Herein lies the confession. During the Summer we used to sneak out of the house. Now, typically we'd just hang out and try to be super quiet in the front yard but there was one occassion in which I lost all common sense. It was raining out- not hard but steady. Brett's mom had a new car... Brett was maybe 14 at the time. You see where this is going? Yeah. I got in the car with 3 friends, with the driver only fourteen, IN THE RAIN, and went for a short ride to the gas station. Wow, what an idiot.

Now tell me, if a person I'd like to think as smart would do something that STUPID as a kid, why on Earth would anyone want children?

PS- This story comes now- when I'm sure I couldn't possibly be grounded for telling it. I don't think, anyway.

Yes, always good to tell these stories when you don't live at home. Cute picture. I have to say I never did anything like that but I'm sure it'll catch up to me if I ever have a child of my own.

I don't think enough time has passed for those kinds of confessions!!!! Darn! Just when I was trying to convince myself that I was a good mom in control of things. Trust me on this one.....whatever the worst thing is that you think you did as a kid, your own children will definately "one-up" you! Get ready!!!!
Hugs.....

Great shot, Joleen! I love the softness of the photo.

And I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN! Oh I know what you mean. I reflect A LOT on what I did as a kid, and it makes me freaked out that my own kids will in turn do something equally stupid......how frightening is that?

And I love what your mom wrote. That's too cute.

I can't believe you confessed to that. You would never do anything of the sort! I knew you had a little of me in you. Thank you for proving that you were indeed a teenager.

Hey jo. Cute pic! Anywho, I sure am glad you waited to confess that "teen-action" of yours...I don't know what would've happened if you would've been living with your mom when you told her. lol. Well, it's good to know you had fun as a teenager! Oh, and don't let your actions scare you out of having kids because you don't want them to do the same things...an indident like that is just another beauty of having your own kids. You'll laugh at their mishaps later!
